Latin Urban Day
Latin Urban Mix is a one day event dedicated to recognize DJs who have contribute with their talent and influences to the growth of the Latin Urban entertainment industry. LUM will also feature the Urban Icons, a series of entertainment experiences involving Urban art, fashion and break dancing that will capture the evolution and essence of the Latin Urban Movement.
This year’s Latin Urban Mix will focus on urban fashion, music and art. We want to create this experience for the people who don’t have the means to expose themselves.” The Mix’s day schedule includes art, fashion and music demonstrations for corporate majors, other entertainers and fans, all leading up to the main event: the honoring of the selected DJs held during evening hours. “The first goal of this event is to honor the DJs,” “As a secondary focus, we have the music, the fashion, the art, the breakdancing.” During this time, a corporate panel will be presented, along with a DJ panel discussing how they choose their music and what the current trends are. Among the DJs being congratulated are DJ Kazzanova, DJ Camilo, Tony Touch, Prostyle and DJ Sama. The DJs would be geared toward the Latin market, emphasizing thoughts and reactions on the movement and culture of Latino-America. As urban icons, the main idea of this compilation is to propose their titles as icons of tomorrow. “The main idea of this event is to put focus on the fact that a Latino DJ went on Hot 97 and played a reggaeton track on there,” said Solis. “We have to be able to say, ‘Wow, thank you for doing that.’”
